Premium Paint Correction services in Lynnwood

What is a paint correction service?

Paint correction is the process of cutting or removing a very small amount of the surface clear-coat which levels and removes around 90% of scratches and imperfections in your vehicles paint. This yields the highest amount of gloss and clarity from your vehicles finish.

What to Expect

We will inspect and take paint measurement readings to help determine the amount of correction that can be done on your vehicle. Older vehicles or those with thinning or failing clear-coat will have limitations as to how far we can correct imperfections. We will use a 2-step compound and polish process to remove around 90% of imperfections.

It is important to know that a paint correction will need to be properly washed and maintained in order to prevent scratches and marring from returning from improper protection or washing/drying practices. We strongly suggest the addition of a ceramic coating if considering a paint correction service to help protect your investment.

The Process:

1) Clean wheel faces, wheel barrels, tires and fender wells using various specialty brushes to reach all surfaces.

2) Snow foam and pre-rinse. This is a vital step to remove as much dirt and debris from the paint as possible before hand washing.

3) Hand Wash. We use new microfiber rags on every vehicle to thoroughly hand wash while reducing the chance of marring or scratching your paint. We will also use precision brushes for those hard to reach areas. This includes around emblems, trim, front grille sections, gas cap area and all door/trunk jambs.

4) Apply iron removal spray. This is the first step of decontamination to help dislodge and brake dust or industrial fall out that may be embedded into your cars paint before the claying process. This also helps remove any stubborn caked on brake dust that wasn't able to be removed during the wheel cleaning process.

5) Clay paint. This is the second stage of paint decontamination. All surfaces will be clayed to remove all contaminants embedded into the paint. This includes bug guts, road tar, sap and any other stuck on debris.

6)Tape off plastic and rubber trim to prevent any possible staining or polish build up.

7) Take paint measurement readings to see how extensive of a correction can be performed while still leaving the integrity of the paint or more importantly clear-coat intact.

8) Compound and polish the paint using a 2-step correction process.

Step 1: Use a cutting compound and pad to remove heavy imperfections in the paint surface.

Step 2: Follow up with a polish to perfect micro swirls or scratches left behind from the cutting process.

9) Final wipe down to remove any polish or compound residue that may be left behind from the correction process.

10) Wax/Seal paint. We will apply a layer of wax or sealer to all painted surfaces using a machine or by hand. A machine wax application will help eliminate a lot of swirls or minor scratches that my be present however we understand some owners may want a hand applied wax which is available upon request.

11) Hydrophobic top coat. This final paint coating will add an
additional layer of gloss and depth while helping bead water from your paints
surface.

Important Notes:

This process can take anywhere from 8 to 20 hours to complete depending on paint condition.
